Who are we
In 1996, Muslim healthcare professionals established MediConcern to improve the health and social care of the Muslim Community in the North West of England. MediConcern is a registered UK charity.
Aims
To improve equity of access to health care and health promoting activities for Muslims
To improve equity of treatment and care for Muslims using health services
To increase awareness and understanding amongst health care providers of issues relevant to Muslims
To educate the wider community on Islam's holistic approach to health
What we do
Provide Education and Training for healthcare organisations and students caring for Muslim patients
Provide A Consultancy Service regarding the Islamic perspective on issues of ethical concern and the specific needs of Muslim patients
Organise Community based Events and Workshops conducted to increase public awareness of the Muslim viewpoint, to share and discuss common concerns, and to inform the Muslim Community regarding their own health
Produce leaflets / booklets and a newsletter, 'Shifaa' |
